Kronos 2 Features over 21GB of preset waveform data covering all manner of genres and styles. An almost limitless library of sounds and patches are at your disposal - each meticulously designed by the dedicated Korg Sound Design Team. An Internal 62GB SSD Hard drive ensures there is plenty of space to expand your arsenal with your own custom patches or Korg Kronos Library expansions.

Kronos 2 also features an enhanced SGX-2 Grand Piano Sound Engine - one of the most dynamic and realistic grand piano tones in the world today. Each key has been meticulously layered and recorded for perfectly natural decay and sustain. Other enhancements to the SGX-2 engine included Sympathetic String Resonance and newly-recorded Una Corda (soft pedal – literally “one-string”) samples.

On-Board Effects

KRONOS provides 16 internal effects to add impact to your sonic creations. Each of the 12 Insert effects can be applied to individual or multiple timbres in a combination, or to individual or multiple tracks of the sequencer. In addition, two Master effects can be applied to sends 1/2, and two Total effects can be applied to all tracks at the final stage of the sound.

Throw in Korg Wavesequencing, MS-20 filtering and the rich Polysix Chorus, and you've got an enormous amount of processing power under the hood for sound design, music production and live performance.

Multitrack Audio and MIDI

Kronos 2 features Korg's KARMA Technology (Kay Algorithmic Real-Time Music Architecture). KARMA is a powerful songwriting and live performance tool, producing an intuitive set of Arpeggiated phrases, loops and backing tracks that responds to the notes you play and controls you tweak, all in real time. The Second Generation of KARMA now includes Wave-Sequencing, Note Mapping and 8 scenes per layer.

Hands-on Hardware

For those who prefer the ultra-quick response of a synthesizer keyboard, need to focus on organ performances, or are seeking the ultimate in portability, the KRONOS 2 61-key model is equipped with a lightweight and expressive semi-weighted synthesizer action.

The nerve center of the KRONOS is KORG’s enormous eight-inch (800 x 600 pixel) SVGA color TouchView display.

In addition to the parameters accessible directly from the TouchView display, KRONOS also offers a wealth of realtime controllers to enhance any performance and to aid navigation. A four-way joystick, ribbon controller, and two assignable switches are located to the left of the keyboard. An additional Vector joystick is nearby.
