Apogee Release Their Portable Duet 3 Premium USB Audio Interface With On-Board DSP.
Over the last 15 years or so, Apogee have been breaking ground with their audio recording interfaces and, with their latest release - the Apogee Duet 3, it looks like they will continue to do so for some time. The Apogee Duet 3 is a digital audio interface that features analogue circuitry and AD/DA converters, giving you an incredible sound. The Apogee Duet 3 is a result of decades worth of innovation and expertise and also features on-board hardware DSP so you can track whilst using FX processing with the Symphony ECS Channel Strip (sold separately), without latency and without burdening the CPU load on your computer.
Sleek Design
The first thing you’ll notice is the Apogee Duet 3’s sleek design. It has a thin aluminium body and a scratch-resistant glass front, with an easily accessible knob for controlling volumes and input gains etc. Whether you’re recording at home or in a studio, the Apogee Duet 3 is sure to look the part.
World-Class Preamps
The Duet 3 has two great sounding preamps on board so you can get amazing results when recording any kind of sounds source. As you’d expect, there’s 48v phantom power as well as up to 65dB of gain. So, whatever microphones you’re using to capture your audio, you’ve got an interface that can keep up.
On-Board DSP
The Duet 3’s on-board DSP allows you to record whilst using effects with the Symphony ECS Channel Strip, without latency or delay. This means that you can get a great, polished sound in your earphones whilst you’re laying down vocals or acoustic instruments - for most performers, this usually leads to a better take. The Symphony ECS Channel Strip has been tuned by legendary mixer Bob Clearmountain and includes compression, EQ and saturation controls to allow you to really dial in the perfect sound.
Duet Dock
Sold separately is the Apogee Duet Dock. This makes the already sleek Duet 3 even more practical by setting it at the optimal angle, and providing easier access to the connections at the back.
