Korg Release New Volca, Kronos, Minilogue & More at NAMM 2019

A semi-modular analog synthesizer that makes modular synthesis more accessible and understandable than ever before.

Creating new sounds that don’t exist in the outside world is an unending dream which has continued since the birth of electronic musical instruments. This dream has evolved and expanded throughout the development of new and unique music production devices.

Based on a simple trigger waveform, wave folder and overdrive are used to add overtones and distortion, and then a waveguide resonator effect brings the sound to life. The six-part DSP synth engine was designed with a completely different philosophy than conventional drum machines, and generates a wide range of unexpectedly different sounds. And of course, you can play those sounds from the volca-style sequencer.

Korg wanted to deliver a next-generation analog synthesizer for a new generation of musicians new to analog synthesis. That dream was realized in the development of the minilogue, which instantly made the analog synthesizer approachable.

In addition to emphasizing the same real analog sound and joy of controlling an electronic musical instrument offered by the original minilogue, the minilogue xd newly adds a digital multi-engine, effects, a powered-up sequencer, and micro tuning functionality, further expanding the possibilities for sound design and performance potential.

As well as musical elements, the Krome also provides Hollywood sound effects for use in commercial or film work. So no matter your job, the Krome can handle it.

This special edition version of the Korg Kross 61 features a striking neon finish and brand new PCM content. The special editions feature exclusive PCM comprised of a special pre-installed piano and electric piano sounds. Also included are cutting-edge synth and drum sounds which are ideal for EDM producers, although the genre-defying sounds can be used for a variety of applications.

The Kronos SE is a special edition of the now classic Korg Kronos keyboard workstation. The SE version builds on the success of the original, including brand new features exclusive to this edition.

One of the most prominent new features is the Italian-made grand piano. Debuted at the Korg Grandstage, this meticulously sampled Italian grand piano captures the presence and detailed resonance of the original with incredible realism. The Italian grand piano has received increased attention and praise from the jazz and classical music world. A full concert grand piano that was used in international competitions has been adjusted, especially for the Kronos SE.
