19th Jan 2021
Brand New Rane One DJ Controller With Motorised Decks Blends The Traditional Feel Of Vinyl With The Benefits Of Digital DJing.
Rane are known for making high-quality, feature-laden, professional-level products, and the Rane One represents their first digital twin-deck DJ controller. Does it live up to the Rane name? - Of course it does. This is a compact, user-friendly piece of kit, packed full of features that pro-level DJs will love. With two motorised decks, you get the feel of traditional vinyl, but all of the added benefits of the digital world.
Feel
The Rane One features two 7.2” motorised platters that replicate the traditional feel of decks. This means you can now enjoy the tactile nature you’d normally only experience DJing with vinyl, whilst still enjoying all the benefits of digital. There’s even a torque switch that lets you select high or low, so you can tweak the feel of the decks to your liking. Add to this a traditional stop/start plunger button, and you get a really cool, authentic experience.
For the One, Rane have used their Mag Four fader which they say is their fastest and smoothest fader yet and allows for super precise cutting.
Tweak Your Sound
Under each deck, you’ll find eight backlit pads that you can use to control various performances features such as Roll, Slicer, Hot Cue and Sampler etc. There’s also six stackable FX buttons that you can assign software effects to and activate using the two aluminium paddles (the same ones seen on Rane’s flagship Seventy-Two mixer), meaning there’s plenty of scope to manipulate your sound how you want it. Each deck also has a three-band EQ as well as a volume.
Connectivity
The Rane One DJ controller offers plenty of options when it comes to connectivity. As you might expect, there are two USB ports for laptop switching and for the outputs, you’ve got twin RCA and balanced XLR, plus a pair of balanced XLRs for the Booth out. There are two microphone inputs (both with independent 2-band EQ and volume), that can accept either an XLR or jack, and an RCA aux input. Whatever setup you’re running, the Rane One gives you flexibility to seamlessly integrate.
