What’s new in Reason
The digital audio workstation has been revamped and optimised with high-resolution graphics, new rack devices and an improved workflow. One of the most prominent new additions to the software is the Mimic Creative Sampler rack device. This cutting-edge sampler takes the labour out of slicing sounds, allowing to focus on building new arrangements and patterns. Utilising automatic transient slice detection, the Mimic Sampler can detect and slice sounds for you, eliminating the need to cut your sample manually. Whether you’re re-arranging samples for a hip-hop record or chopping drum breaks for your next song, the Mimic makes the whole process a breeze!
New and improved Combinator
The Combinator has been upgraded, now with an increased focus on sound design capabilities. The Combinator allows you to combine instruments effects and other devices to create powerful ensemble sounds, complete with a new in-depth Editor so you can create your own custom front panels including all knobs, buttons faders and graphics. You can now also create Combinators with existing Combinators, essentially creating a never-ending ensemble for more creative sound design options.
Glorious high-resolution graphics with scalable windows
Improved for the modern era, Reason now features full high-resolution graphics complete with scalable windows, optimising the GUI for added flexibility. Each Reason Rack device has been upgraded with crisp new graphics. The DAW will also scale automatically to fit within your monitor’s resolution for an optimised user experience.
Powerful rack
Reason is loved globally for its virtual rack. Whether you're starting from scratch or want to make the most of the vast amount of presets included, the choice is yours. The software has been designed so that everything automatically connects and is routed for you. This means if you're not a modular geek then you won't feel left behind. The only limitation is the extent of your imagination!
To ensure you hit the ground running, you're supplied with a seemingly infinite number of synths, sampled instruments, drums, loops and effects. From heavily synthesized sounds to wholly organic tones, these have been purposely designed to cover just about every musical style and scenario you can think of! Use the integrated browser to easily source and pinpoint the sounds that are right for you within the huge library.
Perfect production
The integrated sequencer allows you to effortlessly capture your musical ideas. With this you'll be able to record and manipulate audio and MIDI to achieve perfection. The simplicity of Reason's lay-out allows you to instantly feel at home, without having to waste time reading manuals to try and figure things out, or compromise your pre-existing workflow.
You'll find this is excellent in the pre-production stage. We've all been there, there's nothing worse than writing and recording a song to realise down the line it's not in the right key. Adjusting this can result in various timing issues and make your recordings sound "robotic". Reason makes this issue a thing of the past and allows you to easily transpose your audio without affecting the tempo of the song.
The ultimate finishing touch
Inject tonnes of "vintage mojo" into your productions when it comes to mixing. The integrated mixer has been modelled on the iconic SSL 9000K mixing desk. Renowned for its flexible routing options, detailed dynamics,EQ and automation groups, there's good reason why Michael Brauer (Coldplay, The Rolling Stones, Elle King) adores it. Engage the iconic master bus compressor to add the perfect finishing touches and glue every component together in a musical way.

From warming up a synth using a saturator to blasting your beats with pure distortion - the effects on show with Reason will give your sounds the edge they need to stand out. These effects include (but are not limited to): The RV7000 MkII reverb which provides a range of different impulse response models, the Echo which brings the accuracy and perfection of digital delay in an easy to use package, and Pulveriser Demolition, which is filter/distortion/modulation tool that does to sounds exactly what its name suggests. If you're after tools that perfect your songs then the MClass Mastering Suite provides you with everything to bring out the utmost quality in your music.
