Designed from the ground up with live performers in mind, every design aspect of the Yamaha CK88 will take your performances to the next level. At the core of the CK88 is the powerful GHS (Graded Hammer Standard) keybed which reacts like a grand piano, providing the same tactile feel and fluid playability as its real-world counterpart. It comes equipped with a huge, genre-defying sound library including pianos, electric pianos, organs and much more. It even incorporates sounds from previous CP/YC series instruments, giving you a tonal arsenal that allows you to tap into the depths of your imagination.
Advanced sound design options
What sets the CK88 apart from other keyboards in its price range is the comprehensive sound design options on offer. With independent control sections for Filter, EG and effect blocks you can tweak and sculpt your sound as you see fit, even in real-time whilst you perform. Providing advanced control for the Organ Voice control are the built-in drawbars, allowing you to control the sound like a real-life vintage organ. Vintage-style rotary controls are included for cutoff, attack, resonance, depth, rate, and more for the various sections. You can even control the tonality of your effects using the Depth and Rate rotary controls.
Each dedicated section has clearly labelled buttons including quick access 'category' buttons allowing you to seamlessly switch between sound categories in an instant. This allows you to quickly find the sound you're looking for. The keyboard also features one-button portamento/unison control for quick and easy operation.
Layer/split sounds and onboard studio-grade effects
Layering and splitting sounds can take your performances to the next level, by mixing multiple sounds at once or layering them to create new and exciting sounds. Using the vast sound sets on offer you can layer/split sounds in the three different zones on offer, allowing you to create organic and expressive sounds. You can even edit each sound individually using the onboard effects as well as the master effects section. Add texture and colour to your sound, or push things to the extreme using the distortion and compressor/EQ effects. There is even a three-band EQ with dedicated sliders allowing you to shape your sound even further as well as a dedicated 'Reverb' rotary control.
Compact design with Bluetooth and versatile connection options
Highly portable, the CK88 features a lightweight design with built-in speakers so you can play wherever you go. The Yamaha CK88 also offers multiple powering options for added convenience. You can power the unit by using an AC adaptor (not included) or via 6 x AA batteries.
One of the most unique features of the CK88 is the inclusion of Bluetooth Audio connectivity, allowing you to pair your Bluetooth-enabled device to the keyboard for audio playback. This allows you to play along with your favourite tunes or incorporate backing tracks. The CK88 also features USB compatibility, allowing you to connect the keyboard to your computer or a smartphone.
